Break-through!

Just a quick update but I really wanted to let you guys know that I had a real break-through at the gym today! My left hip, that I had treated, was feeling noticeably more stable and less painful compared to the right hip which wasn't treated!!!! May only sound like a small thing, it's just that one area, but for me it's a MASSIVE deal as this is my first breakthrough in my condition in 11 years & means the Prolotherapy really is working! BOOM!! It's still early days though so finger crossed/knock on wood that I'm not jinxing it! But I'm feeling more postive about the treatment now.

More substanstial update coming soon, promise!

  1. Hi Katie.

I've just come across your blog today and I'd like to say a very BIG thank you. Real peoples experiences are just so invaluable and insightful. Thank you again.

Having suffered something akin to coccydinia for over 2.5 years now and had numerous types of treatments, I stumbled across prolotherapy. I'm about to have cyrotherpay soon to freeze/kill the nerves around the sacrum/coccyx. But I shall be asking about prolo soon after if this doesn't work.

I live in the Bristol area, if you know of anyone around the South West or can recommend a practitioner not too distant, that would be great.

I might just start a blog myself! Good luck with the rest of the therapy and do keep posting please!

    Phil.

    1. Hi Phil,

Thanks for your comment. I'm so pleased to hear that you've found my blog interesting and helpful! That's exactly what I set out to do. I think Prolo is definitely something worth you looking into to. Particularly as you have one specific area you want treated. How many Cyrotherapy treatments will you need before you know whether or not it's worked?

My previous Prolotherapist, has put up a list of practioners on his website that he would recommend: http://www.drbrianpattinson.co.uk/ I very much trust his judgement that they're all good. I'll be going to the one in Tonbridge.

Let me know how you get on.

    Hi Katie,

I have already been to see the Dr based at Tonbridge who Brian recommended before he retired. He is very nice, understanding and much cheaper than going into London. I would be interested to know who you had prolotherapy from at Guildford as this is just down the road from me.

    All the best

    1. Hi Ian,

Thanks very much for commenting on my blog. The Prolotherapist I had wasn't actually in Guildford it was at the Oving Clinic which is near Chichester, but I would not recommend him if you have chronic or complex problems nor if you want more than one place treated. It was also considerably more expensive per treatment. The actual treatment there was a good standard though.

So how many treatments did you end up having at the Tonbridge Clinic then?

  3. Hi Katie,

I have been for 2 sessions at the Tonbridge Clinic so far. I have ligament laxity and inflammation in both my sacro illiac joints and recently suffered a relapse. I have found it takes the prolotherapist a number of sessions to build up a picture of the area's that need injecting as most joints are quite complex.

The gas system they use at Tonbridge is more modern and i find it much more tolerable - the mask that brian used used to make me feel like i was being suffocated and very light headed!

I have another session on Monday and will ask him if he can do a few more spots this time.

    Thanks

    Ian

  4. Hi Katie
I really wanted to know if your prolotherapy has helped you I too went to Richmond and Oving as I suffer with lower back pain but thought it was a total waste of money, I really hope you are doing good as you are so young to suffer as you do. Would be great to hear your progress.
    Best Wishes
    Anne

  5. Hi Katie, I've hada read your blog with huge interest as my husband has severe ligament damage in his wrist and prolotherapy is something I've literally just stumbled across so I'm so grateful for your blog to get a true account of the process. I wondered if you could let us know how. You're doing now. If the treatment has made a day difference to the things you can do I'm your life and whether you believe the cost and pain if the experience was Turkey worth it. My husband is on his last legs with his pain, having trained as a welder fabricator and worked as one for two decades, he had to give it all up and is now dealing with an awful loss of professional identity, so k miserable that he now can't do what he believes he was born to do. If you could give any glimmer of hope that prolo might work for him I would be so grateful, it would also be wonderful to hear how you're getting on now and whether the treatment has truly made a difference in your life. Many thanks in advance, Abi Xx
